Superstructures

Towers and kits

This aspect of LAGLASSE & OMHOVERE’s business has expanded considerably since 2010, and our teams now possess expert skills in a range of related procedures :

  • Tower design using Tekla 3-D modelling
  • Reinforcement studies and plans
  • Development of temporary kits for lifting by helicopter
  • 3-D laser digitalisation, tower modelling
  • Finite element design calculations (using Robot, Tower, or Dlubal)
  • Design of new families of supports to address current technical, environmental and cost requirements and scenarios.

Our superstructure design resources are state-of-the-art. The 3-D models produced allow our clients to benefit from simulated construction without having to resort to conventional trial assembly. In particular, these models are used to develop kits to be transported by helicopter and for overhead-to-underground transition points.

Meanwhile, mechanical design calculations for structures are carried out by means of finite element modelling using Robot or similar software

We have two Leica 3-D C10 Scanstations: these provide point clouds for supports and allow us to process the digital model to produce design calculations and fabrication plans. Our teams are experts in this technology – which can of course also be used for other purposes, such as surveying sub-stations and tunnels (e.g. when underground cables need to be run through them).

In addition to grid-related surveying, this equipment can be used to survey the inside and outside of any building, ranging from historic monuments to factories.
