Our technical department is made up of engineers and technicians with all the resources and related expertise to check every component in any electricity-related structure, from the type of conductor to hardware standards for fixings.
Using specific software such as PLS CADD, all the components for a power line are dimensioned and verified on the basis of two key aspects :
- mechanical aspects, based on scenarios taking into account construction (Cenelec standards, wind, cold, frost) and legislation (technical orders).
- geometric aspects, based on operational documentation or topographic surveys; internal verifications (total distance, cable spacing) and external checks (height clearance) are also carried out. These calculations ensure that safety standards, particularly those concerning third parties, are observed.
Depending on the policy to be implemented, all or part of a structure’s component parts – structures, cables, and hardware – are verified.
In addition to this type of design calculation work, LAGLASSE & OMHOVERE has acquired human and IT resources to perform design calculations for dimensioning, stability, and foundation reinforcement. Doing so has enabled us to carry out more stringent controls on our subcontractors (foundations), and gives our Business Officers the ability to address client expectations quickly and effectively.
For several years now, our clients have also been asking us to help them prepare contracts of works negotiations. To do so, we incorporate the development of works scenarios and procedures right from the design phase to determine what human and material resources should be used and how to do so in complete safety. Considerable ingenuity is required to take into account environmental aspects and infrastructure downtime as effectively as possible.
